Butterflies Be Gone

Not exactly in line with the general theme of the site, but here’s a technique I use to get rid of those annoying butterflies that show up in the clothes we keep on hangers. Every time I take a shirt off its hanger in the closet, put it on and look in the mirror, I’m reminded of Joan Crawford in “Mommy Dearest” saying “No wire hangers!”

Unfortunately those of us without ample shelf and drawer space must sometimes (!) resort to using wire hangers. I actually like to use the plastic ones which are a little larger, but they still leave ‘butterflies’ as well.

One day I started wetting the fabric around my shoulders where the ‘butterflies’ show up, after I’ve put the piece of clothing on. I discovered that this works very well, for the fabric dries and re-conforms to the shape of my shoulders rather than the shape of the hanger, wire or otherwise. The end result is a very pleasing contour around the shoulders.

Don’t Brush Your Teeth

Years ago I wrote a blog that said don’t brush your teeth! I had just had my first periodontic treatment and learned the importance of brushing the gums to promote dental health. The key to maintaining the health of your mouth is primarily focused on keeping the gums in good shape.

After experiencing my second periodontal treatment I want to modify that earlier article a bit. I still maintain that brushing your teeth is not as important as brushing your gums because the gums are responsible for keeping the teeth in their place. However, it is also very important to work the connecting area to the gums around the base of the teeth. It is the primary value in flossing your teeth.

Flossing alone is good for the areas between the teeth. But flossing doesn’t take care of the sides of the teeth that aren’t adjacent to other teeth. There is a technique you can use to strengthen the gums around the sides of the teeth that are not adjacent to other teeth. Using a toothbrush, concentrate on the area where the gumline and the teeth come together.

Move your toothbrush so that you can massage this area. The point is that you want to work the area where the teeth and gumline come together so that you can strengthen the connective tissues.

While this technique may seem unwieldy at first, it is something that can be easily learned. Once you have mastered this technique you will find your dental health strong and long-lasting!

The Fountain of Youth

I’d like to share some secrets to youthfulness. I seem to be running about 10 years younger than my actual age, and I think I’ve discovered some techniques that can help you live a healthier life!

I don’t believe in doctors or medicine. Sure, if you have to use them, then do what you have to do. But I’m not writing to promote living on pharmaceuticals. I believe you can control many of your body’s processes normally. And if you can pass some of this information on to younger people, I believe you can help make the world a better place.

I hope you enjoy reading this information, and would love to hear any comments or suggestions you care to make. Here’s to your health!
